United Way Honors Thomas A. Tupitza with 2022 Tocqueville Award
Thomas A. Tupitza, President of Knox Law, received the 2022 Tocqueville Award at yesterday's Leadership Recognition Reception held by United Way of Erie County.
The Tocqueville Award, one of Erie’s most prestigious honors for those who render extraordinary community service, “recognizes outstanding volunteer service to our community through personal leadership and long-time commitment.”
Tom has been a long-time contributor and supporter of United Way, also serving as a member of its board of directors since 2016. He has chaired the Planned Giving and Leadership Giving Committees and the Fund Distribution Division, and has participated on many other committees, panels, and task forces, including the campaign cabinet.
Tom has also served many other nonprofits in our region, including The Erie Community Foundation, Erie Regional Chamber and Growth Partnership, The Nonprofit Partnership, UPMC Hamot, Hamot Health Foundation, Erie City Mission, Erie County Historical Society, Warner Theatre Preservation Trust, VisitErie, Westminster College, and others.
Honors Tom has received include the Four-Way Test Award (Rotary Club of Erie), Legends of Iroquois (Iroquois School District Foundation), Humanitarian Award (Eagle's Nest Leadership Corporation), Excellence Award (Pennsylvania Legal Aid Network), and the Everyday Leader Award (Pennsylvania Bar Association). He is also a honorary life member of the Hamot Health Foundation Board of Corporators.
