Timothy Wachter Invited by White House to Speak at Opportunity Zone Conference
Timothy S. Wachter, Shareholder and lead for Knox Law Public Strategies, was invited by the White House Office of Public Liaison to attend and participate in an Opportunity Zone Conference tomorrow, April 17, 2019.
Pennsylvania Senator Dan Laughlin (R-49th) and Matt Wachter, VP Finance & Development at the Erie Downtown Development Corporation (EDDC), were also invited to the conference, which will take place in the Eisenhower Executive Office Building in Washington, D.C.
All three will participate and share best practices in breakout sessions hosted by federal officials. Participants from the White House include Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin, Department of Housing & Urban Secretary Ben Carson, and Assistant to the President & Director, National Economic Council Larry Kudlow.
Topics for discussion and analysis will include "Empowering Entrepreneurship & Unlocking Untapped Economic Potential," "Cultivating a 21st Century Workforce for Opportunity Zone Business," and "Understanding Federal Guidance."
The invitation follows Tim and Matt Wachter's testimony on Opportunity Zones before the Pennsylvania House Urban Affairs Committee on March 20, and Senator Laughlin’s tour and listening session on April 3 at the EDDC’s North Park Row Properties, located in one of Erie’s Opportunity Zones.
