Thomas A. Tupitza Selected as 2020 "Lawyer of the Year" for Public Finance Law in Pittsburgh Metro Area
Thomas A. Tupitza was recently selected as a 2020 Best Lawyers® "Lawyer of the Year" in Public Finance Law for the Pittsburgh metropolitan area. This honor follows his inclusion on the 2020 Best Lawyers in America® list, along with eleven other Knox Law attorneys.
Mr. Tupitza received the same honor in 2015 for Public Finance Law, and in 2016 for Land Use and Zoning Law, both in the Pittsburgh metropolitan area.
According to Best Lawyers, only one lawyer in each practice area in a designated metropolitan area is honored as "Lawyer of the Year." These lawyers are selected based on particularly impressive voting averages received during the exhaustive peer-review assessments conducted with thousands of leading lawyers each year.
Mr. Tupitza has been on the Best Lawyers list for the past nine years for Public Finance Law; the past six years for Real Estate Law and Land Use & Zoning Law; and the past four years for Health Care Law. He is also AV® Preeminent™ Peer Review Rated (Martindale-Hubbell).
He advises clients in the private, public and nonprofit sectors on finance, real estate and governance matters. A past president of the Pennsylvania Association of Bond Lawyers, he is active as bond counsel and underwriter's counsel in tax-exempt financing transactions. He has served as the firm's President since 2007.
Inclusion in Best Lawyers is considered an honor because Best Lawyers is based on an exhaustive peer-review survey in which more than 52,000 attorneys cast almost 5.5 million votes on the abilities of other lawyers, and lawyers are not required or allowed to pay a fee to be listed.
Best Lawyers began designating "Lawyers of the Year" in the U.S. in high-profile legal practice areas in 2009.
