Thomas A. Tupitza Honored for Service to UPMC Hamot

Thomas A. Tuptiza, President and Shareholder of Knox Law, was honored at UPMC Hamot's Annual Dinner yesterday evening as outgoing board chairman. He was also elected an "Honorary Corporator" for life by fellow Hamot Health Foundation Corporators, along with Rich Merwin.

Mr. Tupitza served on the UPMC Hamot board for 13 years, including the past two years as chairman and as a board member for UPMC. He has also served as a Hamot Health Foundation Corporator since 2001 and previously as a board member for the Hamot Health Foundation and Hamot's Regional Health Services.

"Tom had an integral role in many of our most important decisions over the past 13 years... [and] is a tireless champion for UPMC Hamot, Erie, and the region," said David Gibbons, president of UPMC Hamot.

UPMC Hamot's new board chairman is Mark Raimy, CEO of Welders Supply Co. and nine-year board member. Newly elected board members include Tim NeCastro.
