Nadia Havard Presents on Retirement Plan Administration
Nadia Havard will present tomorrow, Friday August 11, for the Career Link of Lawrence County's Employer Advisory Council. She will address "10 Retirement Plan Administration Mistakes and How to Fix Them." She speaks often for this group, which meets monthly.
The presentation will review 10 common mistakes that happen in retirement plans and whether they might be corrected by an employer through self-correction programs. Errors like failure to make RMDs, get loans repaid, using wrong definition of compensation, excluding eligible and including ineligible employees, impermissible in-service distributions, or missing top-heavy and ADP/ACP tests, just to name a few, occur a lot. The program will also discuss the new rules under SECURE 2.0, which became the law on December 29, 2022, as related to RMDs and correcting plan mistakes.
At Knox Law, Nadia concentrates her practice in all areas of qualified and nonqualified retirement plans and employee benefits; transfer taxes; fiduciary income tax and trust administration; business; as well as estate planning and administration. She assists clients with retirement plans regarding drafting and compliance issues. She regularly employs efficient wealth transfer planning techniques and assists clients with estate, business succession, and tax planning.
