Knox Law Attorneys Speak at Annual HVA Law Seminar
Knox Law attorneys will present at the annual HVA Law Seminar, hosted annually by HVA Senior Living Alliance. The seminar will be in-person on Wednesday, June 5 at Saint Mary's Asbury Ridge. Several representatives from regional nursing home facilities will be in attendance.
Mark Wassell's presentation is "A Refresher on Significant Changes in the Law: Are You Up to Speed?" and will address the Pregnant Workers Fairness Act, the PUMP for Nursing Mothers Act, the Speak Out Act, and various changes in the law under the National Labor Relations Act.
Nadia Havard will speak about "Long-Term Part-Time Employees: New Reality" and discuss who qualifies as a long-term part-time employee, retirement benefits that are mandatory vs. optional, and other solutions available to employers.
Matt Lasher's presentation is "Sexual and Other Unlawful Harassment, Bullying, and Workplace Civility" and will address the differences, legal ramifications, and case studies.
Additionally, "Unemployment Issues and Long-Term Care Facilities" will be covered by Tracey Marcus from the Office of Unemployment Compensation Service Center, where she is the Western Sector Program Manager.
