The Workers' Compensation Group of Knox McLaughlin
Gornall & Sennett, P.C., has one of the largest workers'
compensation defense practices in northwestern Pennsylvania.
Our attorneys have extensive experience in workers'
compensation litigation and represent many of the largest
employers in the area. We also work with a wide array of
insurance companies, self-insured entities and adjusting
companies.
When an attorney receives a file assignment, he or she
performs a detailed analysis of the case, seeking the means to
achieve both short-term and long-term goals. We communicate
that analysis promptly to our clients. The objective is to
place the employer and insurer in a position that minimizes or
eliminates continuing liability. We regularly consult with our
clients to recommend courses of action that address not only
the issue at hand but also long-term planning needs.
The group handles all facets of workers' compensation law,
including:
 |
Defense of claim, review, reinstatement
and penalty petitions |
 |
Presentation of modifications, suspension
and termination petitions |
 |
Settlement of claims |
 |
Strategic planning and case management
|
 |
Consultation and file review |
While we work most often in administrative settings, we are
experienced litigators who often appear before the
Commonwealth and Supreme Courts representing the interests of
clients. Practicing throughout northwestern Pennsylvania, our
attorneys are familiar with the medical care providers
throughout the region as well as with the vocational
rehabilitation consultants serving the area.
We remain mindful of the client's bottom line at all times,
working to control costs as much as possible while maintaining
high standards of performance. We do everything we can to get
to know a client, including visiting the worksite, preparing
witnesses and conducting investigations. To provide
comprehensive advice and service, we seek to familiarize
ourselves with the employer's benefit programs and procedures,
including short-term and long-term benefit plans,
return-to-work policies and light-duty programs.
The practice of workers' compensation law is constantly
changing. Our attorneys take continuing legal education
seriously and keep abreast of new decisions that may be used to
our clients' advantage. We are involved in local, regional and
statewide committees, advisory panels and educational
presentations. Our attorneys are always available to offer
counsel and training to our clients on workers' compensation,
both face-to-face and through seminars and presentations.
Collaborating with other groups in our firm is a hallmark of
our service to clients. We work closely with the firm's Labor &
Employment, Business & Tax, Litigation, and Governmental
Practice Groups to provide the comprehensive legal resources to
meet each client's unique needs.
